About Sean

Sean has been involved in the horse business his entire life. The son of two horse trainers, Sean trained his first horse at age twelve (his mother had hoped it would encourage him to pursue another path - it didn't). His parents trained horses in every facet of the industry, however, even as a child Sean's favorite event was reining.

As teenager, Sean was an extremely successful Three-day Event rider. He was selected to compete in the North American Young Riders Championships Sean Johnson in 1999 and qualified again in 2000. During this time, Sean split his schedule between training with nationally known Olympic trainers, David and Karen O'Connor, and running the family facility. The time with the O'Connor's paid off; Sean was "long listed" for the Olympic games. Unfortunately, a career ending injury to his mount thwarted that goal. Sean continued to run the family facility, give lessons and clinics, and maintain two successful show strings, for several more years.

After leaving the family fold, Sean began working with his friend and mentor David Dillman. It was at this time that he was able to fulfill his childhood dream of riding reiners. Under Dave's tutelage, Sean was able to take his pre-existing knowledge and fuse it with reining concepts. This allowed his foray into the world of reining to be nearly seamless. Sean began showing reiners and never looked back.

Sean's background has instilled in him the talent, ability, and determination to be successful. His work ethic is second to none, and his hard work and dedication has proved to be a solid foundation for the path to success. Sean's clients enjoyed a successful year in 2007, and 2008 has even greater potential.

Sean would like to thank: his clients for their continual confidence in him, and his friends in the industry for their help and support.
